A well-placed, high-tech video system will scare burglars away. Video cameras are responsible for catching more criminals than eyewitnesses. The camera doesn’t lie or confuse the details. A lawyer can interrogate a witness and make them look unreliable or lead them to second-guess themselves. A high quality video clip of a perpetrator is impossible to explain away, even to an experienced lawyer.

Let’s face it, a crafty, determined criminal can work their way around any alarm or surveillance system, if they want to badly enough. The key to all types of security is that it poses a deterrent. If a home or business has security in place that makes robbery more challenging; a wise criminal will look elsewhere to steal something that’s not protected. Speed is of the essence to most criminals. If a video surveillance system is going to slow them down, or identify them to authorities, they usually won’t bother.

The improved technology behind the new video security systems is even more daunting to criminals. High definition images can now be broadcast to any computer, instantly. Cameras are now small enough to hide anywhere which makes them hard to detect and even harder for criminals to find and destroy.

Depending on whether you are purchasing your video surveillance camera for home or for commercial use you are going to want to purchase the best resolution, but, you must buy the best resolution for the setting you will be putting the camera in. If you are buying for a home security system, you are not going to have to buy something as intricate as when you are buying a security video surveillance camera for a whole commerciabl business operation, which must be constantly monitored, at several locations, during the day, and over night hours as well. So, when buying your video surveillance system, it must match the area where it will be placed for best results.

For a home security system, going with something which offers a 720p resolution screen is probabaly going to meet your homes needs. Unless you live on a giant mansion, with several acres of land which are valueable, you may want to consider something a bit more intricate. If, you are going for the commercial building for a business, you are going to want to buy something with a little higher resolution, about 1080p and higher, just to ensure you are getting the best visibility.

Some insurance companies will offer clients a discount or rebate for having an installed video security system. Video Security systems fall into two categories; monitored and unmonitored. Monitored systems are those where you subscribe to a private company to watch your security system 24hrs a day and they contact you and the police if something goes wrong. Unmonitored systems are those where everything happens on site and you are alerted by means of a siren and/or flashing lights should a break-in occur.

Depending on what type of security system you have, the savings usually range between 5 and 20 off your yearly bill. For video security systems that are unmonitored you are likely to fall on the lower end of the savings which is around 5. Monthly monitored video security systems which are verified and professionally installed will land you a rebate closer to 20.
Here is an example of how much you could save:

Yearly Insurance: 1,000
20 Discount: 200
Final Cost: 800 Per year
Monthly Savings: 16.67

As you can see, you can save a substantial amount of money from having a video security system. Video security systems are a proven way to help protect your property from damage and theft and are not only beneficial to you but also the insurance companies as they lead to reduced claims thereby saving the insurance company some money. It is because of this opportunity to save money on claims that insurance companies offer these rebates as a way to motivate their customers to have a video security system. The hits keep comin-: Ask Casa: A Home Security System for My Rental? Don-t let this happen to your store! If you-re in the market for a new video surveillance system remember to look for these non-negotiable…
Lagless ” That-s the industry term for a standard video feed, one that doesn-t simply take a picture every few seconds. Sure it may cost a bit more but how mad will you be if your store-s only protected one second out of every four?
Clarity ” Many low-end cameras offer terrible quality for a great price which we don-t think is a great bargain. Get a video feed that-s not grainy or too dark to ensure the video will be useable rather than just static.
Indestructible ” When you choose a system, choose one without wires that can be cut. Mount it as high as possible to ensure that if someone wants to block it out they have a hard time doing it. This is useful in the event of robberies and if you-re monitoring employee behavior as well.

Video security systems can be installed using one camera or multiple cameras. The purpose of installing a video security system is to record any possible criminal activity during a 24 hour period. Therefore, a lot of businesses install video security systems for security; however, a lot of homes also install their own private video security systems.

The video camera transfers the recordings into a central location, either to an office, closet, etc. The video can then be monitored by an individual for security, or replayed for evidence after a criminal activity. Video recordings were normally saved in VCRs, which can record 24 hours of footage. However, as technology became more advanced, more businesses and homes have opted to save video footage on hard drives. This will allow them to record more footage. Furthermore, saving footage onto a hard drive will also take less room, in comparison to saving individual VCRs for every 24 hour footage.

Businesses and homes, while installing their cameras, will either choose to make them visible, or hide them. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. Making the camera visible will help deter criminals from committing crimes, especially amateur criminals, who also tend to be the most dangerous because of their inexperience. Hidden cameras, on the other hand, will prevent criminals from finding out the cameras’ blind spots.

Sometimes, people need to feel secure about their surroundings. These surroundings could be anything, from your family to a personal possession. If you have a need to increase your security, you may want to look into buying some top rated video security gadgets. You might know nothing about security devices and wonder, “Where do I start?”

If you’re worried about being burglarized, you may want to invest in surveillance cameras to place in discreet areas around your home. It helps if these cameras display colors to assist in any descriptions, in the case your house does become burglarized. There are also options now to purchase indoor security surveillance systems. If you have a nanny watching your children and you are wondering exactly how your home is run during the day, there is a nanny cam for that! Often times these cameras are inside of a stuffed animal and placed in the room where both the nanny and children are most often. If you have a new baby in the home, modern technology has evolved the sound-oriented baby monitor to include video feedback as well.

There are so many opportunities to safely secure your home and give you peace of mind.

ADT is a leader in security for both residential and commercial customers, and the company’s Select Vision service is one reason why. Select Vision gives users the ability to manage multiple digital video recorders (DVRs) with one application, giving security teams an all-seeing eye over their domain. Digital video also makes it easy to handle video after the fact, whether you need to view previously recorded footage, save video to hard drives, or e-mail it.ADT has proof of how well their system works. Consider their case study in which a major regional financial institution (known in the study only as “the Bank”) approached ADT to upgrade their security systems. By implementing their new DVR technologies, ADT was able to improve surveillance and efficiency. The new surveillance standard also made training easier, helped to eliminate false alarms, and reduced overall costs of security.Digital video surveillance has many advantages over its competitors. It’s more reliable than tape-based systems, since it doesn’t require maintenance or depend on fragile tapes. Picture quality remains sharp and clear throughout the product’s history, and more of it can be stored at one time. In the case of the Bank, they were able to store at least 90 days of footage. Finally, many DVRs can be accessed through remote video access anywhere your business has connectivity.Don’t worry about training your employees to this new technology, either: the service is much simpler than traditional video recorders, and ADT offers audits and tours on request to make sure everything is working the way it should be. If you’ve been looking for the way to make your business more secure, look into ADT’s Select Vision DVR surveillance. The choice should be clear.

Everybody who walks into a supermarket is familiar with closed-circuit television. Step through the doors, look up and wave, and ta-dah! You’re on television! If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about this beneficial technology, you’ve come to the right place.CCTV was first used in Germany during World War II for observing the launch of V-2 rockets. The systems are still used today at launch sites to record flights and to detect causes of malfunction. However, according to Wikipedia, the technology first gained use in the security sector when the city of Olean, New York installed a CCTV network on its main business street. Other banks and stores (including your local supermarket) soon followed suit. For many people, a sign informing them that they are being monitored by camera is a sign of security. However, some argue that this is an intrusion into people’s privacy, to which supporters respond that the networks are used in public, not private, spaces. In recent years, studies have shown that people now find CCTV more favorable due to its ability to avoid (or solve) terrorist attacks. Many security companies offer CCTV systems. ADT offers a variety of CCTV services, giving users the choice between a variety of television cameras and lenses. The company also has the latest in monitor screen technology, including Flat Panel and TouchScreen features. Outsourcing CCTV Monitoring, based in the UK and operating from North India, provides CCTV to many organizations across the world. The idea that their crime could be caught on tape is a healthy deterrent to many criminals. CCTV provides that assurance and security and helps a variety of different types of businesses conduct themselves safely and efficiently. If you’re interested in learning more about CCTV, visit ADT’s site.

You’d think shopping for a security camera would be simpleall it has to do is view and record the spots around your home or business, right? However, there is actually a wide degree of variance in the security camera market. If you want to make sure you end up with a quality device, you’ll have to know some details about what you’re looking for.First, you should decide if you want to go wireless or not. Wired security cameras have an advantage in that they experience no interference, but they are limited in the distance they can be installed from the security monitoring system. Another bonus of wired cameras is that there doesn’t have to be a power supply at the spot where the camera is installed. With wireless cameras, outdoor devices will transmit up to 1600 feet, while indoor devices will only achieve 40-50 of that. Since most wireless cameras operate on a 4 channel frequency, it is difficult to use more than four cameras together. One note: if you’re planning on installing your cameras outdoors, you’ll want to be sure that they are specially designed to withstand moisture and weather. These are referred to as integrated cameras.Picture quality and color are two more important considerations. Your choices in this area will depend on the environment your camera is in, as well as the function. If your camera will need to pick up license plate numbers or faces from far away, it’s a good idea to go with a higher-resolution picture quality (between 480 to 570 TVL). High image quality cameras have 420 to 480 TVL, and standard cameras will fall between 380 and 420 TVL. Color cameras will be more expensive, but they will work better in heavily lighted areas and also make it easier to track people or vehicles down. You should discuss all of these aspects with a security professional to make sure your chosen camera has everything you need.
