A well-placed, high-tech video system will scare burglars away. Video cameras are responsible for catching more criminals than eyewitnesses. The camera doesn’t lie or confuse the details. A lawyer can interrogate a witness and make them look unreliable or lead them to second-guess themselves. A high quality video clip of a perpetrator is impossible to explain away, even to an experienced lawyer.
Let’s face it, a crafty, determined criminal can work their way around any alarm or surveillance system, if they want to badly enough. The key to all types of security is that it poses a deterrent. If a home or business has security in place that makes robbery more challenging; a wise criminal will look elsewhere to steal something that’s not protected. Speed is of the essence to most criminals. If a video surveillance system is going to slow them down, or identify them to authorities, they usually won’t bother.
The improved technology behind the new video security systems is even more daunting to criminals. High definition images can now be broadcast to any computer, instantly. Cameras are now small enough to hide anywhere which makes them hard to detect and even harder for criminals to find and destroy.
